Simple Plan(nt tht simple after all)
Thursday, November 3rd, 2005I was onlined one of the nites…and suddenly this song "CRAZY" by Simple Plan juz kept playin on my mind while im checkin my mails and chatting wit buddies..Can u imagine how distracting tht can be? is like ure so bz doin your own thing but on yr mind:
"Is everybody going crazy?
Is anybody gonna save me?
Can anybody tell me what’s going on?
Tell me what’s going on
If you open your eyes
You’ll see that something is wrong"
and of coz with all the Solid distortion, power-octaves n the clean Riffs with sweet delay(working like a loop) tht plays a part of getting me addicted to it !
Back to the topic ! So this eventually lead me to download it. Honestly, I’ve never favor Simple Plan, but since their previous Hits which is "Untitled" I’ve began to like the band coz they do write Good songs with meaningful lyrics. This five-member Canadian band is terrific when railing against injustices and misplaced priorities or setting its jaw in the face of opposition. Punk defiance gets put to good use when the singer refuses to be pessimistic (“Shut Up!”) and digs in his heels to prove doubters wrong (“Me Against the World”). Elsewhere he determines to rise above the jaded status quo (“Jump”), and challenges his generation to unite and make the world a better place (“One”). “Crazy” wisely questions misplaced cultural values, such as parents who prize wealth above intact families, rich people indifferent to starving children, and young girls resorting to diet pills and surgery to look like magazine covers. It repeats “If you open your eyes you’ll see that something’s wrong” as the singer searches for some form of salvation.
But the Cons of it is when the vitriol gets tiresome. And, as Proverbs 12:1 points out, patently rejecting good advice is foolish. The question is, Which of these thoughts will teens internalize?
"Crazy" Lyrics:
Verse 1:
Tell me what’s wrong with society
When everywhere I look I see
Young girls dying to be on TV
They wont stop ’til they’ve reached their dreams
Diet pills, surgery
Photoshoped pictures in magazines
Telling them how they should be
It doesn’t make sense to me
Verse 2:
I guess things are not how they used to be
There’s no more normal families
Parents act like enemies
Making kids feel like it’s world war III
No one cares, no one’s there
I guess we’re all just too damn busy
Money’s our first priority
It doesn’t make sense to me
Verse 3:
Tell me what’s wrong with society
When everywhere I look I see
Rich guys driving big SUV’s
While kids are starving in the streets
No one cares
No one likes to share
I guess life’s unfair
The lyrics have very clear and direct meaning and Need no further explanation. I realised there are lotsa Simple Plan fans out there..but i wonder how many of them really know wht like these lyrics really meant? or are these fans juz group of rockers whom dying to learn the songs n perform juz to get some fame n stuff..if thts the case..I think is really Suck coz they’ve juz missed out wht the writer tryin to tell everyone.
